2025 Eleanor Roosevelt Awardee
Congratulations to former Rep. Rosemary Lesser, this year’s winner of the Eleanor Roosevelt Award.
Born into an Air Force family, Rosemary was among the first women admitted to the University of Notre Dame, and later earned her medical degree from the nation’s only military medical school. She went on to serve as an Air Force physician, caring for military families in Germany and Texas. For nearly three decades, she practiced as an OB/GYN in Ogden, Utah, touching countless lives with her dedication to women’s health.
Elected to the Utah House of Representatives in 2021, Rosemary brought her expertise as a physician, veteran, and mother to her leadership. She championed public health, equity, and environmental stewardship while serving on the House Democratic leadership team from 2022 to 2024. A strong advocate for postpartum Medicaid expansion, reproductive rights, and community well-being, Rosemary embodies the spirit of Eleanor Roosevelt—compassionate, courageous, and committed to the common good.
We invite you to join us in honoring former Representative Rosemary Lesser and celebrating the legacy of women who are shaping Utah’s future.
