Latino Outreach Coordinator
Position Overview
The Utah Democratic Party is seeking a Latino Outreach Coordinator to design, plan, and execute strategies that build deeper engagement with Latino communities across Utah. This role is central to expanding the party's reach, growing trust within Latino communities and Spanish-speaking voters, and ensuring our communications and organizing efforts genuinely reflect and serve the people we're trying to engage.
Someone who understands Latino communities in Utah, whether through lived experience, prior organizing, or community ties, and who's excited to build something from the ground up. This role requires equal parts strategist, communicator, and relationship builder.
Roles & Responsibilities
Design, plan, and execute Latino community outreach strategies in coordination with the organizing and communications teams
Represent UDP at festivals, community events, and cultural celebrations through tabling and direct voter outreach
Manage WhatsApp communications as a primary engagement channel with Latino community members
Translate party materials, communications, and campaign content into Spanish
Develop and oversee Spanish-language paid and organic advertising across digital and social platforms
Build and implement Latino-specific canvassing strategies, including volunteer recruitment, training, and field execution
Build relationships with Latino community leaders, organizations, and faith and business networks
Track and report outreach metrics to inform ongoing strategy
Qualifications
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to motivate and manage volunteers
Willingness to work long and irregular hours, including occasional nights and weekends
Ability to meet deadlines and achieve organizing goals
Comfortable working with data and learning campaign tools such as NGP VAN
Commitment to Democratic values and electing Democrats in Utah
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred
Willingness to travel within assigned region
Preferred Skills
Fluent in both Spanish and English, spoken and written, required
Some campaign experience required
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Comfortable working independently and managing multiple outreach channels at once
Familiarity with WhatsApp Business tools and basic ad platforms (Meta, Google) preferred
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to events across the state
Compensation
Salary is $3,750 per month
Paid vacation plus sick leave, paid observed holidays
