UDP Field Organizer
Position Overview
The Utah Democratic Party is seeking Field Organizers to support the coordinated campaign for the 2026 election cycle.
Field Organizers will be responsible for building and managing volunteer teams, executing direct voter contact programs, and expanding Democratic voter engagement across targeted regions. Field Organizers will report to the Organizing Director and work closely with campaign staff.
Roles & Responsibilities
Recruit, train, and manage a team of volunteers to execute voter outreach programs
Lead canvassing, phone banking, and text banking efforts to meet weekly voter contact goals
Build and maintain strong relationships with local communities, activists, and partner organizations
Conduct one-on-one meetings with volunteers to develop leadership and increase engagement
Utilize NGP VAN to manage turf, cut lists, and track voter contact data
Create and distribute walk packets, call lists, and text universes
Ensure accurate and timely data entry and maintenance of voter records
Track and report daily and weekly metrics, including doors knocked, calls made, texts sent, and volunteer recruitment numbers
Build relationships with community leaders and stakeholders to expand campaign reach
Collaborate with regional and statewide campaign staff to align organizing efforts with the overall strategy
Support voter registration and vote-by-mail programs
Assist with GOTV (Get Out The Vote) efforts, including early vote and Election Day operations
Qualifications
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to motivate and manage volunteers
Willingness to work long and irregular hours, including occasional nights and weekends
Ability to meet deadlines and achieve organizing goals
Comfortable working with data and learning campaign tools such as NGP VAN
Commitment to Democratic values and electing Democrats in Utah
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred
Willingness to travel within assigned region
Preferred Skills
Previous campaign, organizing, or field experience
Familiarity with NGP VAN or similar voter databases
Experience with phone banking, canvassing, or volunteer management
Strong organizational and time management skills
Familiarity with Utah’s political landscape and communities
Compensation
Salary is $3,750 per month
Paid vacation plus sick leave, paid observed holidays
